One night, Father Nello found himself trapped in the bathroom when the door jammed shut. Unable to get out and unwilling to spend the night there, he attempted to climb through a small window leading to the roof. However, due to his size, he quickly became stuck in the window.
In his predicament, Father Nello turned to prayer and called upon Padre Pio for help. Astonishingly, he soon found himself free and standing on the roof, without any idea how he had managed to escape. He carefully climbed back into the building through another window, marveling at the unexpected rescue.
Months later, when Father Nello visited Padre Pio, he was greeted with a smile and the words, “Don Nello! That night on the roof!” Even in this humorous situation, Padre Pio’s intercession was unmistakable.
